Bringing history to life for the Owl class!

A day of fun and discovery at Time and Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth learning about the amazing story of the Gloucester.

On Tuesday, Owl Class visited the Time & Tide Museum for a wonderful activity day based on local history. The children were transported back to 1682 when the Gloucester, a warship carrying the future King of England, ran aground off the coast of Great Yarmouth. Pupils learned about the passengers on board, the decadence of court life and the events that led to this tragedy.

The painting of the Gloucester by John Danckerts can be seen at the Time and Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth – a fantastic opportunity to get up close to this incredibly dramatic interpretation of the wrecking of the ship.
